    gif format was discontinued to be supports as animation in dle 9.7 security patch, hwever, you can still upload gif but animation is no longer supported in dle 9.8 and newer due to security reasons....watermark will be embed to gif but it maybe converted to jpg or keep gif but no animation supported.
